Maryam Nawaz says it is time for the government to leave and now it is a matter of days, not months or weeks. Why she is saying this, what information she has, she did not say but it does not seem that what she is saying is going to happen. There is no sign of the government leaving for days or weeks.
The reason is not that the government is doing a great job, but the fact that the government has proved to be very incompetent and its performance is so bad, so bad that the PTI's own assembly members and allies are unhappy. But because of this, there is no chance of the government leaving.
The opposition also has no strategy to run the government. In this regard, it would not be wrong to say that the opposition is also defeating the government in its incompetence.
On the one hand, if the opposition is divided, on the other hand, the two major opposition parties, the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party, are not ready to take any initiative, but they are hoping that the Establishment will support Imran Khan if they disagree with the government. Finish it
The Establishment is not yet ready for this task. Nowadays, rumors of the imposition of emergency are also circulating and it is being said that Imran Khan wants to impose emergency in the country together with the Establishment so that a referendum can be held in favor of the presidential system.
As far as gossip is concerned, all this works but it is not possible and the reason is the Constitution of Pakistan which has some strict conditions for imposing emergency which if not impossible then it is very difficult to fulfill.
If the President decides to declare an emergency, then a resolution in favor of the emergency must be passed by the Parliament, ie the National Assembly and the Senate in favor of the Emergency, otherwise the Emergency cannot be maintained.
As far as holding a referendum for the presidential system is concerned, only those who do not know the constitution and law can do so. There is a provision for referendum in the constitution of Pakistan but parliamentary system of government is one of the basic structures of our constitution which cannot be changed by referendum alone.
According to the decisions of the Supreme Court, the basic structure of the constitution cannot be changed even through the procedure of constitutional amendment, ie by a two-thirds majority of the National Assembly and the Senate.
Parliament does not have this power. In order to change the basic structure of the Constitution of Pakistan it is necessary to establish a Constituent Assembly for which elections are fought on the question of fundamental change in the structure of the Constitution and in case of winning the election the Constituent Assembly can change the Constitution. On the basis of which the election was fought.
The judiciary also plays a protective role in protecting the structure and foundation of the constitution, so the talk of a presidential system is fine as far as rumors go, but this journey is also one of the impossibilities. As if the situation will remain the same, the government will continue to run, inflation, the deterioration of the economy, bad governance will continue to run.
One of the reasons for the departure of the government may be that there will be a revolution and people will come out of their houses to overthrow the government. Long marches and sit-ins of the opposition are not going to do anything to the government. Yes, for one reason or another, the departure of the government is not only possible but certain, and for that reason, Prime Minister Imran Khan has to make a big mistake.
A few months ago, Khan Sahib made a mistake in the deployment of DG ISI, due to which he is not as ladley as he used to be in the past. But the big mistake I am talking about, if Khan Sahib made it, then in my knowledge, it will not be possible for the government to continue. Unconfirmed news is circulating in Islamabad that Khan may decide on the appointment of Army Chief in a month or two.
I hope this news will be wrong but if the government is really thinking like this or giving such advice to the Prime Minister then it would be a big mistake which could lead to the departure of the government. My advice to the government is to make such important decisions regarding the army in a timely manner. Soon it will be dangerous.
